Give Claude your course once
Lesson 1 of 3 · Claude & Cowork mastery
1 · Learn the move · Context + audience
A project is a folder with a memory: your course, your standards, your pacing guide and your rules, loaded once and present in every conversation after. The payoff is that you stop re-explaining the bell schedule. The risk is what else lands in the folder. The line is simple: the course goes in, the children do not. No roster, no gradebook, no IEP, and the rule written into the project instructions so it holds when you are tired.
Set up a project for my course. Write the project instructions: who I am, what I teach, the output defaults, and the rules: no student goes in by name, the decision stays yours on every placement, grade and note home, no level or score you were not given.
2 · Your turn. You write the prompt
Three weeks in and every conversation starts with 'I teach seventh-grade science, 48-minute periods...'. Set up the project so it does not. Decide what goes in the folder and what never does.
Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.
Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.
Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
