Terms of Service
Effective July 30, 2026 · Roster, operated by Stevesaiguide (“we,” “us”) — the “Service.”
Plain-language summary; not a substitute for legal review.
1. Acceptance
By using the Service you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is
Roster teaches AI skills and generates draft text and analysis from the inputs you provide. It is an educational and drafting tool. Every output is a first draft for a qualified person — you — to review, verify, and approve before it is used.
3. Your content, and our license to process it
You own the inputs you provide and the outputs you generate. By submitting content (text, documents, photos), you authorize us to process it — including sending it to our AI model provider — solely to produce your outputs and operate the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to submit what you paste and for your use of what comes back.
4. AI output — accuracy and your responsibility
AI output is generated by probabilistic models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated even when it looks authoritative. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and editing every output before you rely on it, publish it, or share it.
5. No professional advice
The Service does not provide legal, educational, psychological, or medical advice, and using it creates no relationship with any student, family or district. It does not determine whether a paste is an education record, whether a disclosure is permitted under FERPA, COPPA or a state statute, what a district’s policy requires, or what any placement, grade, accommodation, discipline step, referral or contact should be: those are questions for the statute, the policy, the district, and the teacher who decides, and the Service never resolves any of them for you.
Drafts are built only from the de-identified material you provide. You remain responsible for every student who stays out of the paste, for checking every level, score and fact against the record it came from, and for the judgments the Service may only propose — what to send home, what to put in a file, what to decide. Output is a working draft, never a determination, a record, a plan of record, or a representation to any family, and it is not part of a student’s file until you have checked and adopted it.
Student data. The Service checks a paste for patterns that look like a student’s identifying information before anything is sent, and it reduces what identifies. It does not decide whether what remains is an education record, whether a de-identification is sufficient under 34 CFR 99.31(b), whether learners are under thirteen, or whether a tool is one your district permits, and no scan, redaction or draft it produces is a safe harbor under FERPA, COPPA, or any state statute or district policy. Clearing a paste, obtaining a consent where one is required, and choosing a tool your district has approved are yours and your district’s to do before anything is pasted, and the Service never tells you that a paste was permitted.
Decisions, levels and the file. Every decision the Service touches is marked for you to make, and any level, score, reading band or accommodation it states is wrong until you have checked it against the record you hold. It names no student. It may describe approaches and draft material. It never tells you that a placement is right, that a present-levels statement is complete, or that a draft meets any statute or policy, and it is not a substitute for the case manager, the team meeting, the district’s process, and the teacher’s own judgment.
