Turn your best prompt into a skill

Lesson 2 of 3 · Claude & Cowork mastery

1 · Learn the move · Tool choice + routing

A prompt you have pasted five times is a skill waiting to be written: a name, a one-line trigger, the steps, the rules. The sub-plan prompt is the usual first one. When it becomes a skill the three rules travel with it every time: no student goes in by name, the seating note is yours, and the plan is a draft until you have read it.

Turn this prompt into a skill: a name, when to use it, the steps, and the rules that always apply (no student goes in by name, every judgment about a child is [YOUR CALL: ...], the output is a draft). Keep the skill under one page.

2 · Your turn. You write the prompt

Every Thursday you paste the same 200-word sub-plan prompt and fix the same two things: it names a student in the seating note and it invents a 'what to do if' that is not in your plan. Make it a skill with both fixes built in.

Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.

Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.

Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
