Set the control dial: where a human stays in the family-communication workflow

Lesson 5 of 5 · Workflows & automation

1 · Learn the move · Fact-check list

The dial runs from 'the tool drafts and I read every word' to 'it sends on its own'. For a classroom the dial has a hard stop: anything about a specific child never passes the first setting, because a note about a child is a record and a decision in one envelope. The unit overview can go further. The dial is yours to set, per output, and the setting is itself a decision that stays yours.

Set the control dial for each thing I send: full-auto, draft-for-review, or never-without-me. One line each with the reason. Anything about a specific student is never-without-me; no student goes in by name in the table.

2 · Your turn. You write the prompt

You send five kinds of thing: unit overviews, trip reminders, materials requests to the chair, notes home about a child, and file entries. Set the dial for each, and write down why, so the 9pm version of you does not move it.

Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.

Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.

Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
