Make AI defer to your records, not its guess

Lesson 5 of 7 · Compliance & safe AI use

1 · Learn the move · Verified-data override

Models fill gaps with plausible numbers: a reading band, a percentage, a 'typical' seventh grader. In a note home or a present-levels draft, a plausible number is a wrong one. The override is one rule: any figure about a child comes from what I typed, and a gap is [YOUR CALL: the measure, and where it comes from], never a guess. Give it the rule and the figures, and read what comes back as a draft of yours.

Use only the figures I give you. If a figure is missing, write [YOUR CALL: the measure and its source] instead of estimating. Never state a level, a score or a percentile about a child that I did not type.

2 · Your turn. You write the prompt

You are drafting the present-levels paragraph for Student A's annual review. You have the three screener scores, typed by you with the child lettered. You do not have the fluency measure yet. Write the prompt that keeps the gap a gap.

Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.

Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.

Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
